Extension of “V” Berth 26 X, I have long legs and found the standard “V” berth far too short, I had to remove the aft settee back rest SB side and let my feet hang over on the aft settee cushion. So I decided to extend. The yacht needed new cushions throughout so it was the ideal time to make this mod. The extension provided two addition storage areas but decreased the Port seat between the galley and the “V” berth, it also deleted the back rest on the FWD settee seat. (See pics) the extra storage units consisted of a large cupboard between the settee seat and Port seat with hand holds for ease of carrying and a draw in the space above the Port seat. I hope you like the mod.
THAT IS AWESOME.
My wife and I were sitting in the boat yesterday morning discussing how to extend the V-berth. We originally got the idea from Mike and Sandy on Chinook, when we saw their boat during their great-loop. Our three boys are growing and soon are not going to fit. I'm going to do this mod, but I'll keep the removable dinette seat back.
Love the idea of the little drawer. And having another big storage area. Also love what you did with the galley, which is way beyond my skill level, but I will try to do the V-berth mod. I like the wood trim to clean everything up.
In the photo with the big drawer pulled out, it kinda looks like the sides are made with...what...cutting boards?
If you ever get the chance to post more detailed photos of how the drawers actually go together, I would really apppreciate it.
