'73 Venture 21 for project or parts

Post by delta_2_4 »

Hey all!
I picked up a free '73 Venture 21 a couple years ago with the intention of fixing/restoring/sailing. Long story short, I didn't really understand what I was getting into and don't have the time or drive to finish the project. I'm looking to pass everything on to someone else who wants to take over or part out the boat. I don't want to part things out myself... enough time was invested that I don't want to cut up the hull and throw it away, but it can't remain an ugly lawn ornament anymore.

The hull does have transferable paperwork!

Right now, the hull has been stripped of everything except the metal channel that holds the rubber bumper strip and is sitting on a cradle. There is a trailer available, but it needs repairs to the keel rest. That said, the keel is out of the boat and could be transported separately. The keel has been wire brushed, spot sand blasted, rust inhibited, epoxy coated, and is hanging in my garage. The interior of the hull has been stripped out and the non-removable parts of the topside have been sanded. There is fiberglass work that still needs to be done.

All metal hardware and the rudder are included - mast, boom, bow pulpit, original sink, nuts, bolts, washers, etc. There are also a couple sails, but I have no idea if they are any good or how worn they may be.

I'm located in New York, about an hour outside of Albany. Pictures to follow this evening or tomorrow. I'm willing to help get things loaded / fixed up enough for transport for an interested party. I'll also be posting info on Facebook as well as the local Craigslist.

Please feel free to ask for images or additional info if you're interested!

Hi, if you still have the life lines, I would be interested in paying you to remove them and pay for shipping. Thx, Frank
