lost track of my old boat, sold a few years ago ...

Post by ALX357 »

I had kept up with the new owner for a year or so, just out of interest in how he and his family were doing with the Mac 26X I sold him.

The last time I emailed him, my mail was returned for address failure, so I thought I'd try here.

They were in central Florida, I believe, or maybe north, near the gulf. He bought a Merc 60-horse 4-stroke for it, to replace the old 50hp two-stroke I sold it with. As for distinctive features, that is not so easy now, and the appearance might have changed. Back when, there was no name on the boat.

One thing that might be a tell, is the stainless steel clamshell vent covers on the sides just aft the windows, and the abundance of stainless steel handles, as on the transom, and the front hatch. The boat also had a hand-madetwo-piece clear plexi hatch cover, but also the original white pizza box cover as well. The most distinctive feature would be the transom seat hinged to the opposite side, the starboard side, which I changed to make passage thru the cockpit to the cabin easier on the port side, away from the motor controls - but that will not be so evident while the seat is normally down. The boat has a modified galley face as well, and clear plexi storage covers over every storage place in the cabin, but that will not be easily seen either. It has an small anchor roller at the bow, and three stainless steel solar vents, one on the fore-hatch, one on the main slider hatch, and one next to the mast.

Maybe the owner is still visiting this board, and will write me, and as a long shot, if he has sold the boat, 'might the new owner recognize the mods and write me.

I live in central Florida and the only Macs I have seen are in Orlando. We hopefully will be on the Gulf for a couple of weeks at Christmas and I will keep an eye out for it.

much appreciated ...

'several photos, showing what I think are a couple of the distinctive features, probably unique to the boat, if not rare.

stainless clamshell vent on side of cabin, stainless solar vent on front hatch, ( and two other deck locations ) , blue topped upgrade winches.
