What is the rail on the cabin for?

Post by dlandersson »

I have rails post and starboard on my cockpit (top pic) - I understand why they are there. 8)

I have identical rails on my cabin top (bottom pic) and I have no idea what they could be for. Thoughts? :|

Jib sheets. The sheets for the genoa (150%) and spinnaker go directly to the gunwales. The sheets for the jib (105%) go to the cabin top.

What they said. The cabin roof usually has low-profile cars for the sheets, and the coaming has spring-loaded stand-up blocks on the cars, but to be honest, the stand-ups from the genoa work better than the standard cars intended for the jib, on the jib rails. If that makes any sense. :|

Cabin top rails are definatley for the JIB the ones further back in the cockpit are for the Genoa.
