Swim Platform or Ladder only?

Post by kenfyoozed »

On my 26D I want to add a swim platform ladder like this one.

I have my rudder and gudgeons off right now. I have a rudder craft rudder. Will this platform interfere with the rudder swing? What is best on these boats? a ladder only? Or is a platform ok to use?

Unless you have a drving need to do it over the stern, I suggest either port or staboard, get a ladder and a water mattress.

I have these types on my other powerboats and we really like them. So I'll probably put one on unless I can find a solid reason why not.

That looks to be a foot or a foot and a half wide and about the same deep. On my "D" there is no way the rudder would clear unless you create a way to fold the platform up against the transom.

Just an FYI, you really want a ladder with some depth, say 4 steps, so that people (kid sin particular) can use it fairly easily. 8)
