Hello,
Yeterday I am noticed that the block of my MRS
is completely not working anymore. It does not turn under load. The bearings are cracked.
What kind of block shall I buy? What loads? What kind of bearing?
Thanks all
Kurz

Can you post a photo? My MRS has no blocks. It has a winch but not block.

Sounds like the halyard has been setup to run back to the cockpit.
Much more convenient than running up to the mast, but probably not stock.
EDIT:
Mast Raising System, sorry I thought the MRS was the name of your boat!
I am sure any reasonably sized block should do it.
My system has multi-pulley blocks for more mechanical advantage.
Looks like a left over boom sheet setup.

This is the block on my MSR, and I do not see any identifying numbers.

Thanks NiceAft, Yes, it is exactely this block. It has kind of bearings inside.
I could also watch the line. What load can the line hold (braking loads)? I think it is a cheap line.
Or the winch...

That's it! My memory is failing. That's the block on mine also.
Roger wasn't known to install top shelf hardware on our boats. Probably why Kurz has failed.
I would replace it with a decent single block from any chandlery.
Something like this

Finally I installed a block 2000/1000kg, somewhat bigger diameter than original.
Had good feeling.
Also the tube bents little, so I put all kind of tube inside the original tube to make it stronger.
Worked fine so far...

Hi Kurz!
Just a quick couple of questions….
> What year of manufacture is your Mac26M?
> How often do you use your MRS ( mast raising system)?
If others want to chime in that would be great!
I’d like to get an idea of how often folks use their MRS over the years and how the system is holding up for them.
Thanks!
Best Regards

"Block"? or "pully"?

I am the original owner of a 2005
. The MRS is engaged about four times a year. It too is original to 2005. As with Kurz, “Roller Genoa is installed also when using MRS”.
