Halyards and Sheets on Venture 222 (1978)
Been quoted 5/16 inch lines for halyards and sheets. That seem slight and a bit difficult to hold onto. What weight line do you use?

5/16 is plenty strong enough, but 3/8 inch will feel better on your hand for the sheets. For the halyards match what you have or measure the shiv i the mast. Too big and it the halyard will bind.
Make sure you don't cheap out on the halyard especially or they will stretch.
Spens money on sailing gloves.
Good luck - sheets should be 3-0-33 feet each

Hey Lasttime, Thanks! You helped me decide on thicker rope, and ... gloves, dah! I believe the halyards and sheets I have are over thirty years old and haven't seen use for most of that time. I'll pull them out to check diameter. I'll also make sure to not go cheap and get stretch bands!!
