Re: Main furler
I don't know if anyone sells a kit, but there are definitely Macgregor's set up with boom or mast furling. Boom furling has been discussed repeatedly on this site.

Re: Main furler
MacGregor had a custom boom furler as optional for the 26M. Blue Water Yachts probably has the technical data to have a fabricator build it for you. I’m pretty sure it would work on an X. Otherwise there are several vendors (shaeffer, ronstan, etc ) that make them for all sizes of boats, but they’ll be pretty expensive.

Re: Main furler
JimmyT has a furling main that rolls up on his boom. He's not thrilled with it, but it works. As I remember, it rolls ABOVE the boom.
Recently, I learned boom furling is preferred as it allows for battens and better sail shape.

This thread has an embedded video on the above boom furler Russ was talking about. the guy in the video, Mike Inmon was a longtime friend of Roger MacGregor and ran his dealership out of the MacGregor Corp. office spaces. I bought my 26M from him in 2011 when he was offering a free hotel, plane flight, and factory tour for new buyers on the east coast (all the East Coast Dealers had given up). He showed me the furler system on the 26M at Roger MacGregor's house in Newport Beach to try to sell it to me, but I was trying to keep dealer options to a minimum to keep the price down. Seemed to work alright, but at the time I didn't know much about sailing/rigging to judge.

Re: Main furler
I have a 26X for sale and it has a main sail furler system.
It rolls the sail onto a foil that is right behind the mast.
Imagine a jib furler that runs from the top of the mast to the boom
It's was and I assume still made by CDI MR2 is the model
That is about all I know, as it came with the boat when I bought it.
Just looked at CDI webpage and they sold for $2100
Does not seem like any serious interested buyers so I may start parting the boat out in the near future
See the classified area for post
