We spent a great afternoon and evening with Greg (aka Gazmn) and his wife Joscelyn yesterday. Went out to dinner with them and then they took us on a driving tour of mid town and Lower Manhatten, in peak traffic. That's a very exciting experience. Glad Greg was driving. They're wonderful people, and were most gracious hosts. We continue to marvel at the amazing folks we've met on this trip, who have connected with us through association with their Macs and their being connected to this site.

I totally agree with you Chinook. There are some mighty fine people on this site, who all share a fondness for their Macs and sailing. I met Greg also, while down in the Keys and had the opportunity to enjoy afew beers and food with him, while talking "Mac" and sharing our adventures. It was an enjoyable evening, and I look forward to having another beer with him in the future, when he comes down to the Chesapeake

When you get to Montreal this summer the Pointe Claire Yacht Club is offering free dockage for you if you need it. We are actually a bit west of Montreal so you'll have to stay at a marina downtown to see our city, but if you are looking for a place once past the downtown core just PM me. Might need a day's notice to free up a space.

This yacht club is only 50 min by bus and metro from down-town Montreal, including some short walks. Great city to visit.

Mike & Sandy are good sports. We ended up eating in a Spanish Restaurant - run by Chineese on 79th & Bdwy - Only in New York

I was going to point out that all those huge blue painted steel beams for the new Tappan Zee Bridge they passed under (presently under construction) is being fabbed and loaded onto barges in Coeymans and run out over the water on runways sticking out into the Hudson, about 12 miles south of Albany, on the west bank. Right across from the long skinny island in the middle of the river. Just something interesting that most people wouldn't know about, but boats travelling the Hudson have a front row seat.

But they're probably past all of that by now.

Lots to catch up on. Great offer, Starscream. We may try and stay there. I'm thinking of renting a car so we can also visit Quebec, so it might work out well for us to base at your club and get around by car. We had great times in New York with Gazmn and his lovely wife. His picture says it all. Our formation cruise up the Hudson was truly memorable. Thanks Steve for meeting up with us on the River so you could photograph the event. The lead boat is Jill Kristy, known as RIS on this site. They're looping as a power boat, so Rich has fabricated a short wooden cruising mast, which holds his anchor light, radio antenna, and loud speaker. Very neatly done, and it gives his boat a nice look. We're the second boat, with our mast still up, and Lee is following in the blue hulled M, with his mast down and supported in horizontal position by braces and struts. Nice job on his mast support. We did see the bridge I beam fabrication place, and actually had to dodge a tow boat and barge which was transporting one of the beams down to the bridge site. Thanks again Steve for being such a great host while we were all in the Albany area. We're split up now, with Rich and Jill, as well as Lee headed west on the Erie Canal. We'll be moving north up the Champlain Canal in a few days. Stay tuned. Maybe we'll all converge again somewhere further along.
