I've been chasing a few little leaks myself, the main points rainwater is getting into our 1997 :macx: is the bow chainplate that the furler connects to, the plastic pipe from the anchor locker to the hull side and the bolts holding the hinges for the anchor locker door.

Above the V berth is a black access panel, remove it and the foam inside, get someone to hose down all the bolts on the topsides to check if yours leaks here, you will need a torch.

It took a while to find these leaks as water got in and ran down the lip that holds the wiring that goes to the bow light, rainwater dripped down the cabin walls in multiple spots, the V berth, galley and as far back as the rear berth. Our boat is parked on a slight slope, transom end down.

As well as silicone I'm looking for a rubber boot to slip over the bow chainplate and both side chainplates.

Mutt, You just reminded me that it was pointed out to me that I had loose screws on the chain locker and need to access nuts from inside. I used to work at Todd and Lockheed shipyards in Seattle 70's/80/s and never thought I'd have to get into tight little voids to fix something again. Oh well, at least there aren't a lot of thru shell fittings on the Macs. I imagine we'll get to know them all by heart soon enough LOL.

Been there doing that, this weekend I'm adding a couple of marine speakers, a radio/cd two 6 volt deep cycle batteries, 240 volt 7 stage battery charger, then to install an 80 watt solar panel with PV regulator and Voltage Sensitive Relay. A couple of jobs before we go for a few days sailing.
