Just remember that 3 of 4 NFL ers died in the Gulf a few weeks ago trying to dislodge a stuck anchor. If it's really not coming loose after a good effort,give it up and cut the line and buy a new one.

I hardly ever use my anchor so the locker stays locked for months. Last month whilst cleaning the topsides I took out the anchor and there was a lot of dirt around the drain hole which means that a lot of rainwater is getting in. I wouldn't compromise the water tightness of the boat by installing a drain from here to the dam around the ballast tank plug. A connection into the sink/motor well drain would be safer.
