Okay, I wont tell you I dont care about speed...
I just came back from 8 days on Cape Cod where I basically used the :macx: as a taxi from the mainland to C'hunk

A Whaler would have served just as well...but I had 8 incredible days with the family on 26 feet of Waterbago which suits me perfectly at this stage in life. Ive got my whole life to sail and worry about speed once the kids are gone...right now, its all about them and quality time.

:D Good point Kelley, Consider buying a real powerboat
and a faster sailboat ! A whaler and a sailboat with with decent Portsmouth/PHRF rating. You might be happier ! MAC Dand S and Mac 25 as well as many, many others to consider !

Thanks to Everone! I had a good list to look over. Well, I'm now one of you! An owner of a :macx: :) It 's a blank canvas, but, I got all winter, right? :D ....the story...a 2001 bought from Havencraft before they went out of business, titled and registered in 2005, sat in a slip with bottom paint from 2006-08, pulled and wrapped. The bad news is it has absolutely nothing on it  no bimini, no toilet was ever put in, no radio, a 50 tohatsu, and a little dock damage high up on the nose, the good news is...no blisters, sails have never been up(brand new in bag), motor has 4.8 hours on it and sounds great, no holes in the boat for any installation, the boom is still wrapped up in packing material...trailer will need a couple tires but, I'm going to putt it home next week(about a two hour drive) Any MacXers in the RI area want to give a crash course in rigging next spring??? Again thanks to everyone, it's been two years but I'm officially a MacGregor owner! :D :D :D

By next spring, I might be ready for a trip to Narragansett Bay from the Chesapeake! For that matter, if things go well here at home I might be ready this autumn!
