Duane,
Your boat really does sit pretty on it's lines. I'll see if i can get a picture of mine posted so you can see how high the bow sits...

Ok, so I guess if I don't have a web site there's no way to post a picture or even send a picture in a pm message. Take my word for it. Esperanza sits bow high...

DIK,
I do the same thing to fill the ballast I just open the vent and slide valve wait for a bit and close them. Level is about 3 inches below the vent as you say. I was told by the dealer to stand on the bow and rock the boat a couple times to help burp out any air.
Putting a 13# anchor on the bow and 5 gallons of water and a tool box under the dinette front seat got rid of that cork feeling and helped stabilize the boat when beating into the wind. Thanks for reminding me about this. I never burped my boat this year and it has not felt quite right going into the wind this year. I'll burp it next time I'm on it. I never did the superfill thing where you motor in reverse with the valves open. Just doesn't seem like something I want to do.

I've done the reverse thing but it only fills the bump in the step. Takes about five seconds in reverse. I'm gonna try the burp thing though. I also bought a 26 gal. plastimo tank to throw under the front dinett seat. That should help stabilize things too.
