Interesting. Those bags look too small to hold all that line...especially for your third reef. But I assume it works for you.

I can't speak for the jiffyjax, but I plunked down for a set of ezjax at the Annapolis boat show, that was 10.12.09 I still haven't received them yet. It was supposed to take 4 to 6 weeks. I called after week 6 and after week 7 and sent emails, NO REPLIES!!!!. Last week I recieved a call (week 8 ) and said they'd be shipping in a week or so? Now I see their running a Christmas Special 10% off. I wonder If they'll give me a refund for the difference?bscott wrote:Check out http://www.jiffyjax.com and http://www.ezjax.com u-tube on the ezjax show operation of the system

The reef line bags are long enough to fit the line snug in them and the 3rd reef bag almost drags on the dodger which you can't hardly see it in the photo. I put brass gromets in the bottom for drainage in the rain although the bags have velcro closures on the top. I used pop rivets with a washer to hold them on the boom. They work very well and we have used them over 150 days sailing so far, especially on a boat that gets trailered regularly, having all the lines on the boom is slick with no line mess when putting the boom inside the boat. We use different colored line for each reef ; red for the 3rd, blue for the 2nd, and black and white for the first.
If anyone ask how does the little sail area of the 3rd reef do : in a 35 to 40 mph breeze we were doing a broad reach surffing down 5 ft wind waves at 9.5 to 10 mph while my wife was at the wheel. I find Rodger MacGregor is right 12 degrees of heal is the best for speed on a Mac M ,try to not over heal the boat and you get the best speeds we reef at 18 deg heal or less for good speed and a stable boat.

Probably true...but man it is fun to be heeled over to 30-35 degrees in a 15 mph breeze.bubba wrote: ...try to not over heal the boat and you get the best speeds we reef at 18 deg heal or less for good speed and a stable boat.
Cheers,
