Ok...Guys last chance...should I buff it using cleaner and wax or
chemically coat it? Its a 95- 26x and the black topside is chalky.
I need to do it right first time. In 5 -8 hour day. Plus beer....

Do it right
If it is really bad scrub it first with Softscrub.....this will take off the chalky stuff....then start rubbing in the 3M Fiberglass Cleaner and Wax.....you'll be pleased with the results. After that, put a good marine wax on it like the 3M Ultra Wax. I am also haveing great results with the Aurora Marine boat scrub and wax.
The April 1, issue of Practical Sailor has tested the various gell coat restorers. It concluded that Vertglas, Poli Glow, and New Glass ll were indistinguishable with all looking "brand new". They thought Poli Glow was at the head of the pack due to application ease, effective cleanser, and clear directions.
Also applied was Collinite wax. First the area is sanded with 1500 grit paper, then Aqua Buff 2000 rubbing compound followed by Collinite #925 wax. All were applied by hand. We will have to stay tuned to see how the professional detailers wax finish lasts compared to the restorers.
