Dropped by NASJAX marina today. Didn't see your Mac in the storage lot. Beautiful day on the St Johns for sailing.

Hi Phil,

Hope you and Southern Soul were having fun on the St. John's...now I am homesick and jealous. König is the RV storage lot near the front gate...about 1/2 mile from the marina. But I use to store it mast up in that storage lot right there at the marina.

Cheers,
Jim

Many of us dream of making a departure to the Bahamas, especially this year as the weather has been very bad and cold for the last three months in the USA. Does anyone know of a link to a blog about some small-size boat that wintered over the 2009/2010 winter in the Bahamas, perhaps in Geogetown? I have read great blogs about Macs that went there in previous years, but what about this past few months? Thanks and good luck on your trip! :)

Here's a link to a blog of some George Town cruisers. Not a small boat, but much of life in GGT isn't about the size of the boat. This is a good representation of day to day there.

Latest issue of Sail Magazine has a great article on George Town Crusiers Regatta, which is the highlight of the season. There are several pictures of "White Diamond",which is owned by a friend we plan to meet up with there.

Start prepping your boat for the trip so you will be ready for the end of December. We can put a Mac Flotilla together! 8)

Hi ya folks, Just a quick howdy doody.

Slept in Philly yesterday, met some interesting people as u can see in the picture. Someimes my pics only work on my blog at
http://macgregor26m.posterous.com/

Pennsylvania is an interesting state I found out they have blue laws, one of which prohibits selling a car on sunday...seems you can buy one though. Also ,its very hard finding liquor outlets , not like at home where every store sells liquor. The trip from New York to Philadelphia was okay except for my GPS which uses the less frequented routes in order to save time or something. Leaving Philly in the AM rush hour has convinced me the economic down turn has not hit Penn State as badly as others. The road between Philly and Washington DC was just a pain in the butt because of major and frequent construction. Obviously the federal infrastructure moneys flow well around Washington DC. From Washington to where ever we are at a truck stop in North Carolina the Buick Lesabre with the dynaride cruise control pulled Le Zephyr easily and rather economically down the excellent interstates. Okay, the battery is going on my pc and I have to go to bed if I want to sleep in Florida tomorrow. So nity nite and thanks for listening.

It was great seeing you and your family, along with Ray and his Admiral. And Le Zephyr is a grand boat - despite the fact that it has one of those rather slow blue hulls.

Couldn't see any photos on your blog yet, but perhaps they will be there later on... looking forward to them!

Je vous souhaite un bon voyage, et mai Dieu vous accompagne!

The next part of the trip after Washington was a sleep over in some truck stop in South Carolina on Thursday where We froze our buts off cause it got really cold at night. The next day we stopped in (getting warmer) Georgia where we ate pound cake at the Georgia tourist welcome stop and walked around the beautiful grounds where we noticed flowering fruit trees and moss on the branches. Georgia looks really nice and next trip we will definitely stop in Savannah which looks very beautiful. I must reinforce the fact that the roads through north and south Carolina and Georgia ...except for the construction sites were in excellent state....way better than the trans Canada highway which we have crossed many times A mare usque ad mare(from sea to sea). We arrived in Florida on friday a 5 pm and slept in at the travel lodge at the entrance of Jacksonville on airport road. 58$ dollars for the 3 of us high speed internet and free breakfast where you could make your own waffles and make instant gritts with gravy sauce . Umm Ummm good.

We have a few picks of the Georgia tourism bureau area.

We got to Jacksonville Florida on friday at 5 pm. The visitor information bureau closed a 5 pm. Drats. On Saturday we got to Indian-town where we put Le Zephyr in the water and I proceeded to take 24 hours of sleeping after the barbq party with an over representation of french speaking Canadians...they like to be called Quebequers eh! What a party and what a wonderful place to stay.
