Russ dont see why those floaties (solar lights ) for pools wouldn't do something too? Maybe if I have the time and I remember CRSS...I just might build a floating light stick this winter..

Also do not buy to off takes of the Hydro Glow Light you see at Walmart, Bass Pro Shops, ect.. whether they be LED or what ever and cost less then $70 because they only last one season. The Hydro Glow normally cost $200 but is on sale right now for $150 and is what all the pros use and will last a lifetime.

I think this might be the winning idea. A spa light should be made for a marine enviroment, at least fresh water.

It's not at all waterproof as it expects to be mounted inside the spa light case. But it was cool in my old spa and glowed all kinds of colors and patterns. If I put it inside something and temporarily attached it to 12v it might be a fun toy.

I'm considering installing these onto my boat in two different locations. http://tinyurl.com/326vwqf. I want them for a couple reasons. The light while at anchor around the boat and the fish they attract ; although I don't fish...I do enjoy to see them in the wild. I like this model because it is LED and it's design doesn't create as much drag on the hull. Incandescent and Zeon lights will eat your battery alive and the 2 inch hole most other through hulls requires is a little scary for me. These do have an option for a through hull penetration, but I don't know exactly where I could put those holes.

Its Simple enough to make a waterproof enclosure for just breaking the surface..

Those hot tub lights aren't made to stand up against life on the water. They are made for set conditions, namely...hot water. I've installed that same light into my hottub to replace the incandescence that were there before. They lasted longer than that particular tub did.

I checked amazon.com and google.com and could only find the ones for $200 . Might you be able to send a link on where to get one for $150 ?
