I'll see if I can find a pic. Basically I stuffed the nose in the pulpit and then lashed the sterns to the mast for trailering and motoring. It looked like I could clear the foresail but I didn't try it

I have been daydreaming about hanging them on the sides from the lifeline poles and lashing them to the shrouds .

As said , they ride very well under tow . In our Bayliner we could run up to the brink of plane , before they started getting squirrelly .
But there will always be times they need to come on board.

Look forward to a picture !

Paul, I have an OceanKayak Malibu Two XL purchased retail in NSW.

Great piece of kit. Tracks well and stable as. Paddles well solo in middle seat. Carries 2 adults + 2 grandchildren for poking about. Fishing, 2 adults + kit. Havn't surfed it yet.

I intend towing it behind my Mac. Can't imagine it on board, too big and too heavy. I can't lift it onto roof racks by myself, leave it in the water.

The versatility and the ease of entry and exit, especially from the Mac, made the choice a no brainer for me.

Ok, you can get a bit wet and you can't eskimo roll it, but you can swim from it and get back on real easy.

My thoughts Paul, go for it.

An hour on the kayak is like two hours on the bike, great exercise with ocean views.

C ya,
Clemo.

Thanks Clemo, I did look into them, and a nice yak for sure and a few have gone on Fleabay too. After much time spent researching, I finally decided on a Viking Espri (picking it up on Saturday), and in a month or two we are going to get a second one for the missus. We thought two of these would be good as we can then fit a kid + camping gear on each and do some inland exploring as well.

After much ringing around, I have secured a great deal from the Viking factory shop at Chermside in Brisbane. The Espri is normally $900 for the hull, but I'v managed to get them to throw in a seat, paddle, 2 x flushmount rod holders, cargo netting front and rear, paddle holder, buckets for the three hatches, and a pair of soft roof racks, saving at least a coupla hundred bucks 8)

Yeah, the fitness thing is to be its main use, a few extra pounds have managed to attach themselves to my ass in the last year or so  and I wanna try and move it ( knowing me, I'll probably end up buying a sail kit so i dont have to paddle  )

I'm still hoping to find some way to get it on the Mac though. I'd hate to be out at say, Moreton Island, and have the weather pick up and have to try and tow it back to the mainland.....
