even the manufacturer suggests a 60hp outboard so that one can enjoy all the applications the boat offers.
Nothing to do with the margin on a 60HP vs a lower power engine??

Most people are buying used for the price....(the highly elite few who realise the :macx: superiority notwithstanding)...for those who want to jetski or power hard, of course you need the bigger engine.

My point is a low HP power is an investment risk of only hundreds of dollars, not thousands....prime concern to most of the used buyers.

I'm sure the thrill of switching from a virtual sailor to an actual one will supercede my need for speed for a while. I can always put the motor up for sale at the end of the season. My question is, if your not going to utilize the "powering" aspect of the mac would it be better to get a traditional trailer sailor? I'm not changing my mind just a question for those who use the mac strictly for sailing.

If you only want to lake sail during the day and maybe one night stays, a 20'footer is a better fit than a 26, IMHO

In my opinion, the Mac underpowered is a poor sailing poor motoring boat. Of course it does have more room than any trailer sailor of its size and weight. You just can't get a boat with this much room on a standard trailer towed by a standard vehicle.
For us, just floating under the power of the wind is enough. We don't see other boats and don't desire to race them or get anywhere fast. So the Mac sails just fine. But for some who enjoy performance sailing, the Mac is going to be a disapointment.

Some folks say Boatabego. Admiral and I say the vacation home. I'f you plan on overnighting with kids, I think a smaller boat may be too cramped.

I'm flying out tomorrow to look at it. :? I just want a boat to cruise a little and sail a little and be safe for my family. Just kick back, listen to some Buffett look up at the stars and be somewhere else.

Congrats!

Now you can spend all your time adding mods! (And maybe getting to sail some too!)

I hope to put LazyDayz back in the water this week! (Assuming I get my mods completed and the weather cooperates!)

Congratulations, now is a good time to pay more attention to and spend more time with your wife! :D :D :D :D :D
Seriously, its possible
Really seriously, clean her out from stem to stern, take everything out and scrub the bilges with water and pinesol. I found that was the best way to discover a boat.

Are you talking about his boat or his wife? :)

Good advice though. Projects are best when the admiral is involved.

Oh, I want pepperoni on my pizza.
