Do you find these comfortable and effective?

They are very comfortable and provide excellent traction. There are many designs available, make sure you select ones made for water sports with a sole that will not leave marks on decks.

I noticed after the last election, newscasters, models in ads, posters, all have that look.

I remember as a kid, making cupcakes. I found moms food coloring. What fun.

After many color changes, back and forth to every color, finally the cake mix parked itself on a really unattractive dark green.

When in this age of do anything we want, and do anyone we want, do we all turn dark green? Maybe we can start with dark green feet shoes?

Seems the most important qualities in boating footwear would be

Comfort

Traction

Waterproof

(looking cool if you are under 30)

99% of the time, I'm barefoot on board. Oirginally, my boatshoe of choice was a basic flat sole canvas sneaker, for off-boat trekking...until I got Crocs. I wear the Crocs everywhere. Have knee-high rubber boots for when I need them, mud, cold rain... Sailing in in November is Crocs or hiking boots with wool socks!

I should add warmth to the list for sailing in colder weather.

crocs for all of us, both cruising and on our day sailors too...

Sneakers are horrible on the Cape - sand magnets...we also leave our shoes on the tender on anchor so we dont track sand into the boat.

We love the Crocs. Easy to wash sand off. In the cockpit, we go bare. But up on deck, there are lots of things to stub your toes on, so the Crocs help there.

And of course, no hard shoes on the boat allowed. No black marks from them.
