I think the original poster dropped his gate latch on the gel coat - unlubricated with XD oil, to boot..... :P :P :P

Have you posted this mod? I was looking for it. I wanted to see how the PVC tubes were attached.

just some big hose clamps. (the larger anchor got high quality german hose clamps ($8/each IIRC), the other uses ones from HomeDepot... I'd recommend HD and replace them when they start to rust.

cutting them is the trick. (this is on a classic 26) I could have left them longer but then its a longer reach to put them in..
