Having Lived Owned and Worked in Mexico ... I will take exception to your following statement. Some are contending ? Due to the restructuring of Mexican Immigration polices as of June 1 - 2010,that there has been , in fact , a measurable decline in The Expat Immigration numbers .. This might be substantiated by numerous failing's of Huge New Residential Single Purpose Projects , Contrived for the sole use and population of the expected continued influx of Expats both American( USA) and Canadians.. This idea might also enforced by the numbers of Homes for sale that are held in fido comiso trust. Among issues you might personally face in such an anticipated move? One might well be that your occupation would not , by law , be allowed for you to continue with.. Mexican Labor Laws are VERY strict! It Ain't Kansas and many many many have found Mexico's Laws to be very different than those we and they... contend with here.. and have ? On Both sides of the border for many many years... JSYK..

Kevin,

I would offer to go take a look at it, but Steve is much closer. I'm about 2 hours away. I am on 20 acres, and could store the boat on the property for awhile until you could arrange a trip down, if the marina does not work out.

Further, I bought a van at auction cheap, but it ended up having huge California DMV fees due, so I plan on selling it to the junk yard for $350, about what I paid. It runs great, about 160,000 miles, and would be worth about $1500 or so in a jurisdiction other than CA, since there would be no back fees. I used it to pick up my Macgregor last year when I bought it. Pulled it great. I think it would work great for you to fly down, and use the van to pull it up to the border, maybe even across the border. There is such a thing as a one way trip permit, $18.00, that could legitimately get it on the road. Then you could sell the van to the junk yard for scrap and get your money back. Just a thought.

Even if the van does not sound like a plan, the storage could work free of charge, till say summer of 2012, if you need that long.

Cheers,
