It is right up against the hull. I see what your saying but, there is only one place where that would be a problem really and that's the front board that holds it up. The back has the SS grab rail and I can't see that moving too much. I dont see the front being a problem really.
But if I have to take it down for any reason I will put something thin ( think electric tape thin) on all the contact point to keep rubbing of the liner to a minimum.
