Put your newest six point socket on the nut and gently apply torque on a long breaker bar...if you feel the buttery release of the stud snapping....

Propane torch on the nuts. Get them too hot to touch....spit sizzle, don't test with fingers. Tap the nuts with a metal hammer to help break those threads

Be sure to pull out the winch strap and inspect it for fraying or tears as well.
