No sure about the M but I can fit a 22" wide, 17" deep, 17" high plastic bin from the $ store that almost encloses the engine well and fits under the capt. seat. Excellent bin to hold fenders and dock lines and also deadens the sound. A heavy duty bungee keeps the bin from sliding into the engine and away from the electrical, gas line and steering linkage.

What do you do with the Hasp on the hatch?
Keep it near the henway?

I thought a Henway was a fire service term not a nautical one. It's part of the tradition of loading hose. live and learn
