Yes, but you come from the magical land that invented the inflatable 4 litre pillow of wine  and I used the empty ones as just that, more than once in my teenage years.............

Go with blue letters if it floats your boat.....

Lol. That was funny, because I've been known to do that, too.

And the pictures are great. Isn't it a handsome boat?

Mine is due to be delivered Tuesday. I hear it will help me lose 10 pounds, bring sunny days, balance the budget, and make people smile. I'm certain about part of it.

On color, I'm angling toward blue, 8", a creative flowing script for the name, and my port under it in smaller block letters:

StarDust
PLANET EARTH

One thought about fancy font lettering for boat names is that it can make it hard for other boats to read your name in order to hail you.

LED lettering, like on the fuselages of some military systems, would be cool for 'after hours'...

M26: Coolibah 'footy' was certainly a lot cheaper entertainment than the lollywater they pass for icewine up here! :D

Gotta also think of the name as you say it calling for distress.

"Mayday mayday mayday, this is the vessel 'Who Cares' over". Or "Who Cares, Who Cares, Who Cares, this is Sailors Dream over"

Seriously, how it sounds over the radio IS important.

Something I didn't consider until our first week on the ICW. No issue, but was comical as we recievied comments from the bridge and lock keepers.

I think it's wise to wait to name your boat until it shows some personality. Then name it accordingly.

I once saw a boat going down the bay. It had a bunch of kids in life jackets in what appeared to be hanging all over the boat. I thought, "that captain is an idiot to let his kids hang off the bow pulpit." When we got closer, it was revealed that those "kids" were chimpanzees in life jackets. The boat's name, "African Queen". Great name, funny story.

In my case, it was a minus. Motoring thru Fox Island Thorofare, I wanted to hail the only underway boat that I could see. They weren't answering my general description hail and from astern with binoculars i couldn't make out the transom name. It took me getting within a couple of boat lengths to read the name Wees Be Dancin' in a curly script font with dancing characters mixed in! After I figured out the name, they answered my hail, but I was within shouting distance anyway!

If ya don't want to be hailed, why bother with a boat name, muchless cutesy graphics that make it hard for other boats to decipher?!

Reminds me of a quote from the series "I, Claudius".... when asked to supply a quick watchword for the sentries, Caligula says "I know... let's make it 'Give us a kiss!' " Henceforth when tough soldiers had to get acknowledged they had to say "Give us a kiss" to the burly male sentries, which p*ssed them off to no end.

So... name your boat 'Give Us A Kiss' and think about how THAT will sound on the radio! :D

here is my boat title in pacific blue (a dupont color of sunbrella) Florida is way to hot for the black all around scheme so my bimini and letters are this color Image bottom line its a good idea to choose a sunbrella color in my opinion or have some sort of color scheme thats doable in mind
