The Honda is a long shaft and mounts on the transom of my Mac (it will push the Mac to 3 mph). Using the Honda on the dingy sort of works, one really needs the motor with a short shaft.
Got it, thanks. I'm kinda keepin' my eye on that little Honda super light-weight, air-cooled 4-stroke ... seems perfect for someone who only occasionally needs the dinghy. Light and easy to stow, still better than oars in a wind.
Too small for the Mac and too long for the dink ... seems strange that a package would include a long shaft 2 hp !?

Frank, the original buyer wanted a kicker motor for the Mac and bought the BF2 for the purpose! The fellow bought the Mac from BWY in Seattle (he lived in Portland) He trailered the boat to Prince Rupert in BC then put in and motored to Prince Wales Island and then to Wrangle Island. He was visiting two of his children. He spent about three weeks on his the Mac, then trailered back to Portland and sold the boat to me. It came with the package deal. The motor's a compromise for its intended purpose but it works for both applications. I've got a buddy in Oxnard that just bought a new dingy with a 6hp Nissan, he hates the (too heavy and awkward to transfer) Nissan. I think I'm going to end up with the Nissan. The 6hp Nissan on a ten foot inflatable pushes it along with ample power. Terry

I have a Suzuki 6 as an aux. engine on my X. Great engine bought it new in 2004 with and alternator to charge the second battery bank. 4 stroke so no mixing oil/gas. Comes with a 6 year warranty..and matches my Suziki 50hp.

Bob, do you know if that little Suzuki of yours is a two cylinder or a single? Thanks, Terry
