We personally don't eat either, but some people do. A fresh barramundi would be more to our liking.
Cheers
Gosh, I would never eat a wallaby or a Kanga-roo, (actually, I have never met a wallaby or a Kanga-roo). Is a wallaby different? I thought they had "wombats" - I never met "wombats" either.
We do not have any of those animals here. Just Rabbits and Coyote and some squirrels and TONS OF LIZARDS. Everything else is some sort of bird.
Never heard of a barramundi and I don't think I know what he looks like.
The brown snake met its maker at the end of a large sorry long lump of plywood...actually severed its head clean off!!!
And yes OZ is infested with Roos and wallabies...not sure but a change in attitude and a move away from farming in some areas make for much larger populations of hopping lawnmowers...in some areas its causing problems....and popular opinion is you shouldn't kill our national emblem...or eat it
Boat, Wallabies are smaller than Kanganaroo's and wombat's are four legged marsupial that borrow's under ground and a barramundi is a very large fish that can grow to over 3' and weight over 30kg's found in fresh water and also in salt water.
We do have Hears, rabbit like animal that was introduce, and fox's also introduce into this country many years ago, and our local lizards are called a Laced Monitors' commonly Named a Goanna and it can grow to 6'.
Did you ever see the movie "Crocodile Dundee" it has most of our native animals featured in it?
G-wiz, I sound like a Natural Geographic reporter.
Quote: Bartmac really a brown snake what did you do to get it out of your ?
Wait for the mice supply to run out?
I was told never to run over one, even if it appeared dead because it could end up in the under-carriage in a very ps'd off state. Then, you'd have to give up your car.
We had these visit us this year. First ever for eighteen years of ownership, and we're up for sale.
Saw a Dugite in my back yard when I was a kid.

That looks like a cross between a rooster and a peacock....
Pheasant baby! This ole boy used our backyard daily for two weeks calling for mates, while chowing down on the bird-feeder spillage. Good thing for him I'm not a hunter; got a little obnoxious after a while - very loud. Stunningly beautiful!
Okay, I thought it was a deer and a rooster like bird thing.
In Crockadile Dundee movie I think it was a long time ago, is that the one where the Rhino always comes into camp and puts out your campfire because the Rhino does not like fires? Or maybe that was "The Gods Must Be Crazy" - that was a good movie too, but all the animals and snakes are sort of confusing to me. We have a rabbit that lives here with us in the house - he is potty trained and will only poop or pee in his own little liter box full of hay and newspaper. He travels with us in the van - he has been to Key West, Times Square, Florida, The Gulf, New Orleans, everywhere. That rabbit was even at the last launch of the Space Shuttle. (Mike Inmon has a rabbit too). It's the only creature that can travel for 12 hours without stopping - dogs need a break every 3 hours, and cats lose their minds on the road - the rabbit just likes to sit behind whomever is driving and watch the road. He travels great.
I don't know about a wombat but a friend of mine who lives in Tazmainia and has a van like mine says they like to sleep under his van. I don't know if the kanga-roo is a good pet, I will ask him.
My wife is the animal person, she makes me chase the dolphins and whales when we are in 'boat', but really, to me they are just fish. I guess I'm not very animal intelligent.

Oops, and I was brought up on South of England Farms which had lots of Pheasants Can I put it down to a long time ago and my impending old age

The Rhino was def not in Croc Dundee Our Labrador loves traveling, needs a pee stop every few hours (she is 9) she really does not mind if its by road, sea or air, as long as there is a window to look out. Gets excited by sheep or dolphins
Yes JohnCFI It was a water buffalo, and our first mate is a cat, has his own toilet on board, he as traveled with us all his life (he is 14), very adaptable pussy!

I'm not sure I would promote Lucy to First Mate, all her navigation would be towards food!! plus she has the idea (which we are trying to stop) that it's OK to abandon ship over the side to try and play with Dolphins (they never hang about though) but it worries me one day it might be a sealion which will attack her.
Had another visit from a Black Bear last night on the deck, a little early this year. By next month we will have bears 4 times a week. Year round tonnes of Mule deer, it is a real problem, they eat everything and are aggressive in the mating season when the bucks start fighting. One dear killed my neighbors dog last spring, stomped it to death. One time, only one time, we had a huge Bull Moose come walking right down the middle of our street, and cut in between my house and the neighbor. quit a sight, I was a little nervous, those moose have the Iq of a fence post.
Hmmmm, I recommend rabbit. Ours is not destructive at all as long as you give him a chew toy and they only attack snakes and cats. Sounds like your critters are too naughty.
