Thanks all, I will check in. Looking at 2 used Ranger Tugs next weekend a 2009 and 2010. Its like the old X vs M argument. The cockpit sized increased by 16 inches in 2010, so we want to look at both of them. My wife noted that the cabin sized decreased by 16 inches so everything is a tradeoff.

Especially the R-25SC (below).
Do come back and let us know how you like the boat, once you get it of course.
Your right the 21 is too small. Hope to drag my Ranger 25 to your part of the woods to do the whole length of the Erie Canal. In 2012 we rented a canal boat and did the stretch from fairport to medina and back. It was great fun living life at 5 miles per hour!!
Hey Steve, sorry to see a fellow old timer leave the group. We just passed our 10 year anniversary on the new board...great job Heath and all the admins keeping it going so long! Here's to another 10 years... I can't see selling my Mac, it is just too good of a shallow water cruiser for Florida waters.
All the very best, Steve - we've enjoyed having you as a part of our 'club' and hopefully you'll stop back from time to time to say 'hi' and jump in on a discussion.

Mine spends a fair bit of every summer docked in Fairport, in fact. One of these days, I'll go east to Seneca or Cayuga Lake via the canal, and sail it/them for a couple of days.
The only issue with the 'easily trailerable' Ranger of that size is that it's relatively heavy. Takes more tow vehicle than you need for any Mac (well, aside from Highlander ). But it is only 8-1/2 ft beam, which makes it legal on all interstates in the US without permits.
My husband and I are in the same situation. We love our Mac, but we are planning to sell her and move to a C Dory. My question is, where is a good place to post our Mac for sale?

Right here on our site! Click the top bar, 'Classifieds', to get started. Many folks looking for a Mac look here since we're dedicated to the marque. Also, Craig's List works well, though you do have to worry more there about scammers and time wasters. eBay is another option folks take, too. Indeed, I bought my Mac on eBay.
My ad is still up. I did craigslist also. The new owner came from craigslist. I did spend saturdays, at the harbor, waiting to show it. Finally parked it on the street at home so I didn't waste time in between "customers"
