OTOH, the alternate boat I sail on all summer, that doesn't have this feature, needs these adjustments regularly.

The slight loss of efficiency you get with having a band of UV protective Sunbrella fabric stitched along the genoa edges is partially offset by the fact that it reduces both sail flutter and edge curl at the same time. The cord tensions are less finicky.
OTOH, the alternate boat I sail on all summer, that doesn't have this feature, needs these adjustments regularly.
