How much power does the tankless use?

Just finished up and check out the system. Everything works perfectly.
The hot shower in the head was a long time planning. The shower sump cranked up no problem. Hot shower worked on the transom also.
Removed the AC from my Billy Box, disassembled it and shortened the power cord to custom fit the boat.
Going cheap and back feed the outlets with an inverter while on 12V. Just need to be careful to undo before starting shore power.
Shore power nice.

Thinking of carrying one of these when I go for my long cruise next year, bit expensive but no install needed

We have one of these in blue

Heavy, awkward and uses a lot of water. Can't use it in the head. We carried it several times then gave up. Hopefully your back is in great shape.

Where you going on this long cruise that you will need hot water Kadet? You're a QLDer, you need a slushie maker in the boat, not a hot water system

Cool. That is a nice advantage of the X head, the ability to add a shower.

Victor,
I like the placement of your outlet behind the dinette table (photo below).
Was there enough depth behind the the A/C plate to install a "shallow gang box", or are there open wires at the back of the plug-in?

What changes did you do in the head to add the shower?
- did you drill a hole in the head sole to drain water into the bilge sump?
- did you add a shower curtain and rods?
Some picture of the head shower changes would be great.

Brisbane -> Maroochydore -> Wide Bay -> Hervey Bay -> maybe onto Lady Musgrave, in Winter with female crew so some comfort might be needed
Will depend on weather time available etc.. no fixed plans could even spend the whole time gunkholing around Fraser.

Ahh, nice, provided my missus finishes her latest degree by mid 2016 as planned, we are going to do 4 weeks cruising the
Whitsundays next September
If they are good, my crew will get the usual, the boom hauled up and a solar shower hanging from it in the cockpit

No gang box behind the dinette table outlet. Just open wires that nothing will ever touch. Ground fault on all circuits. Tried to add the USB outlet over the dinette but too deep. Installed that one in the galley.
The shore power worked great for. What a nice upgrade. The kids immediately used every outlet in the boat and really enjoyed no extension cords everywhere.

First actual use this weekend of the hot water sytem. Work perfect.
At one point the boat grounded on the beach. I walked up to it several hours after two head showers on one heat up and washed off using the heated transom shower. Plenty of hot water with a one time warm up.
My kids have zero ideas about conserving water on a boat.
