I'm an old time fiberglasser /fibreglasser ???
Haven't done any in the last15years until the last 6 months.
Guest when a bought my boat.
It's a different world today.
US Composites has great epoxy's for many uses.
They are very informative and helpful
Their products are very good. They even have epoxy's that don't yellow More for deco use like varnish.

Polyester has it's uses. Surfboards etc. but for boats, epoxy resin is the way to go.

For first time fiberglasser's go to YouTube.
I use YouTube as my go to, how to do, service.
Use vinegar to clean off the epoxy not acetone
If you have any dry rot mix some MEK into the epoxy and let it soak in.
It changes the molecular structure of the wood, hardens the rotted area, good for wooden sidings on your house where the sprinklers spray.
