How do you reef with that arrangement?
Not sure the question. Reefing is independent of the outhaul. Done as normal, depending our your reefing setup
I use my outhaul (2:1 - simply a line through the clew then to a cleat) with extra line for reefing, but the main isn't loose-footed. So I was looking at how to reconnect your setup, and looked right past keeping the outhaul where it is, and adding another line to the reef clew.

Random Trivia: On the BSG reboot series, the Galactica and Pegasus were the last two surviving Battlestars--affectionately nicknamed the Bucket (Galactica) and the Beast (Pegasus)...

I'd say that the Bucket is wacky and a tad bit Mad...but I leave the crazy stuff to the Beast... :P

This is where I'm UBER lucky. I married a woman who prefers the exhilaration of heeling. She likes to be able to drag her hand in the water when she's on the leeward side (which takes about a 40-45 degree lean)..

Check out this video at this time stamp: 2:49-3:12. She's relaxed and soaking in the sun when a gust hits us, we lean further and speed up! She's all grins! :D

She's something special alright. My crew still gets pretty excited with that much heel, but its getting better with time. The admiral has quit asking if we're about to turn over.

I have fishing rod holders mounted at the top of my mast crutch arch. I put a flag pole in one and the other one is used for things like a solar light or in the case of the videos, I mount my GoPro to the end of our boat hook. I extend the hook all the way out and stick it into the fishing rod holder. It's probably 12' above the helm seat.

Many Thanks!!! The scenery on that trip made the video series flow together really well!
