If you turned your boat 90 degrees while trying your forestay fitting, my friends Michelson and Morley will be vindicated.

Now did u say ur new mast was 6" longer than ur old one ? , just asking ! if so did u take that into consideration , was ur new mast predrilled !
I have a total of 4 mast hounds on my mast :)

I can measure how far the original upper shroud brkt,s & masthound center hole is from the top of the mast down for u if that will help u
that would be where my second set of spreaders r

Actually my Mast is 5" longer but that's just at the top. The spar was not pre-drilled and all measurements for the new spar were taken from the old one...all the way up to the upper shroud bracket.

This problem is solved now (see "Worst Nightmare" thread)..... the Forestay is all Ok :P .... Yesterday I was measuring from the wrong point on the Bow but all good now.
