It was pretty comfortable that first week in June on Powell, when we got back to Tucson it was an absolute furnace compared to when we left. The nights were nice and cool sleeping on the water while the bimini and sunhats were mandatory midday.

Just opened a run of the musical 'Xanadu' last night I'll be mixing for the next four weekends, but we might squeeze another trip in mid-July once it closes, we'll see what the temps are looking like then.

I posted a boat tour on it's own thread showing what we'd done over this trip, it's longer than these clips but we do finally christen the boat before pulling her out!

Headed back to Powell on Friday for a 4 day stay on the Guppy, first weekend below 90 degrees up there, hopefully we'll dodge the haboobs:

I have a friend who lives North of Phoenix who got hit with that storm. His pool was all clogged up with dust stufs.

Hi TuxonPup!

I understand that those dust storms are kinda a thing in AZ though typically smaller in scale.
An acquaintance mentioned that his car and boat had gotten sand blasted twice by storms while he lived there for four years.
Neither his car or boat insurance covered the damages so his $$$ repairs were all out of pocket.

Seems he also had some sand blasting to his home as well with sand and dirt getting packed under his roof shingles.
He only found out about that a year or so after as stuff started to grow up there!!! :o :? :| :D :D :D
(Personally I’d hate to lug a lawnmower up a ladder to mow my roof! :D :D :D It’s bad enough having to mow on level ground!)

He also mentioned the significant amount of dust that was always accumulating in his garage which settled on everything!
When he bought his home it had storage loft panels in the garage which were a feature he liked.
When a year or two later he decided to start putting stuff up there he had accumulated a 5 gallon bucket worth of dust from the four 4’ x 8’ panels! He though that the aspect of precariously perching a shop vac on a ladder while being on the same ladder was a testament to his younger self agility. He mention that nowadays doing that would be a non-starter as he doesn’t bounce anymore! :D :D :D
(I can relate! :D :D :D I don’t bounce so good anymore either!)

The seemingly perpetual dust getting into everything (air filters, house, car, etc…) was one of the reasons he decided to move East.
Seems the ‘dry’ heat wasn’t all that appealing as he thought it would be after a while.
He loves being on the east Coast now and closer to so many fresh and salt water options along with the greenery.
That was his two cents anyway. :D :D :D

I know others who have contended with the same but are still out there.

Hope those storms didn’t cause too much mess for you!

Best Regards,
