Isn't it funny how when they make a mistake, we are always yelling?
I have explained to my crew not to take shouting personally. When in tight quarters when the captain gives an order there is no time for a response of "what!" from the crew. Shout that order so that it will be heard loud and clear the first time.
There are crew and there are deck bunnies. Deck bunnies stay out of the way and look cute. Crew know what they are supposed to do. Either way it doesn't matter to me just dont be a deck bunnie pretending to be crew.

It gets interesting for sure.
1. Yelling offense.
2. "I don't appreciate your yelling"
3. Denial - "I wasn't yelling"
4. "Yes you were"
5. Fall on the sword - "Your right, I'm sorry, I'll work on not doing that again."
.
.
.
6. Next day - "I didn't appreciate your yelling at me yesterday"
7. Fall on the sword again - "Your right, I'm sorry, I'll work on not doing that again."
Truely the gift that keeps on giving.

deck bunnies, ballast babes, rail-meat, capable crew, admirals and children, the rewards are also the punishment.
( not to mention "Galley Girl, and Cockpit Cooze" )
let's not get too offended at the time-honored tradition of sailors' colorful use of language... ARRRRGH MATEY

"Deck Bunnies?" .... "Rail Meat?" .... hoo, boy.... I could quite easily get myself killed for using either of those! I might possibly get away with the 'ballast babe' remark, but surely that's the limit....ALX357 wrote:deck bunnies, ballast babes, rail-meat, capable crew, admirals and children, the rewards are also the punishment.
