Nice thought, but there's no "easing" the centerboard down and forward when it's under side load. Besides the electrohydraulics, you'd have the put some kind of bearings on the CB the handle the side loads. Your system would then have to hold the centerboard in the chosen position at all times to prevent it from simply folding up into the trunk at inopportumne times.

Not impossible, just not easy and certainly not worth the complication.
