Zeno's Arrow II
Quick Question???
Been off the site for a bit, flew back to Lake Tahoe area from Sri Lanka via Hong Kong & SFO for a couple of weeks & had a nice dinner & chat with Tahoe Jack. Then on back to Sri Lanka via London. Quick question: Headed to the Maldives for 4 days (visa issue), does anyone have any sailing contacts or know of anyone who might have in that part of the world

Bill,
Yes, I do have a stainless steel 12 gage flare gun that would be capable of firing 2 3/4 in. shells (if one would ever want to do such a thing). I purchased it off of a live-aboard cruiser overseas so I'm not sure where they are actually manufactured. FYI, I've only fired shells with pepper from it so far.

Mike and Zeno's Arrow gets a mention in the Changes in Latitudes section of July Latitude 38 magazine. Edition is online if anyone wants to check it out. A picture caption seems to confuse 26X with 26M.

Frank,
While I was quite happy with the design and other components on the part of the designer in Australia, I was not very happy with the quality of past projects of the two builders in Sri Lanka that were interested in actually building the boat. However, that said there is now an English team in country that might be able to do the job; thus, I'm currently on hold and waiting for a quote from them at this point. Basically, after all is said and done it is still a 'maybe, maybe not' project. MM

Too bad, as that looks like the only good alternative for upsizing ...
maybe I should say, "one of the few good alternatives for upsizing" ... from the Mac 26 that I've seen.
But I was still puzzled by the drawings. For example, the beam seemed inordinate (about 16 feet! ) and I couldn't figure how the dagger impacted the salon layout. But that boat's specs were pretty amazing.
