Another thing I did that's handy is to put a bungee netting covering the bottom opening of the helm seat. I mainly use that for stuffing fenders.

I bought a blue pacific mesh bag with two suction cups for the pedestal (fits perfectly on port side of pedestal) which holds hand held GPS, binocs, cell phone and other stuff. Then one 99c mesh laundry bag (from 99c store) attached to any safety line holds EVERYTHING else one could think of.
