But I bought another item from the real seller at a buy it now price right before I got the fake second chance and declined the spoof. when I paid the real seller for the buy it now I asked him if about the second chance offer he told me he never sends second chance offers.

I'm not suggesting that there is anything wrong with having an MSN account. In fact, I prefer to use my yahoo account, which is essentially the same as an MSN account...Sloop John B wrote:What's the matter with MSN?
I think it might be legit. Just a matter of getting there and kicking the tires before you commit. Hope you're not too far away.
What I was suggesting is that I don't believe eBay lets you register an account from such anynonmous servers, and that fact made the "second chance offer" suspect.
But, no, by all means, if they are willing the let you checkout the boat, before paying a dime, I'd jump on it.
You just have th be careful about the bogus "second chance offers" that are really originating with someone other than the owner of the boat - someone just trying to make a quick buck by selling you something they don't have...

I've had several second chance offers come from ebay - all legit.
However, not one of them were asking $25 for a genuine ROLEX.
Five large for a boat worth at least twice as much probably is not right.
Or, it may be real, but there's serious damage to the boat
Imagine seeing a boat like this in a yard, or a parking lot with a $5,000 price tag. How long do you think it would last?
Can't be real.

Of course it doesn't fit on a trailer and would be difficult to single hand. I guess I'd still need to buy a Mac 26X or M.
absolutely a scam
eBay has been overwhlemed with second-chance offer scams in the last year or so. Usually in high-dollar eBay Motors auctions. I sold a car on eBay a few onths ago, and had 3 people contact me directly through eBay questioning me about a second chance offer that I supposedly made to them. Sent all the info to eBay, their reply indicated that the only way to verify that a SC offer is valid is to go into the "My eBay summary" page on their secure site.
I'll bet you the $5K that this is a scam.
