This worked well for a couple of years, but we found that although the holding tank was OK for the admiral and me for a weekend, if we had guests or were out for 3 days, the tank was not big enough. So, I installed another 6 gal tank in the very forward compartment under the vee berth, doubling the capacity. Next I took out the Plastimo tank and installed a bronze thru-hull on the starboard side below the water line for the flush water, then I took out the manual toilet and installed an ITT 12V Electric Lite Flush toilet. Not needing the deck fill for the Plastimo tank (the deck fill is also on the starboard side) I teed it into the 1-1/2" line between the tank and macerator pump so we can use a pump-out station if required. This has really worked well for us, but we do get some funny looks when we pull the big blue
Some notes: I did not install a vented loop with the electric toilet as it would have to go in the pressure side of the fresh water pump, but have never had any issue with water coming into the toilet even when heeled 25+ degrees to starboard. I also did not install a sea-cock on the intake thru-hull which I will do this spring, just in case. Every spring I check all the hose clamps for tightness. Never had so much of a drop of fresh or waste water leakage. Had previously installed 2 - 6V deep cycle batteries for house power and the toilet & macerator pump use very little power.
When spring comes to BC, and I can get the tarp off, I will take pic's and post in the mods.
Fair winds,
Teejay
