Barkley Sound trip

We made the trip to Port Alberni from Anacortes last summer towing boats. No problems crossing the boarder, the ferry from Tswassen to naniamo is great and very common for boats and trailers to be towed. The road to Port Alberni is nice the whole way without any worries. Be sure to stop at Whiskey Creek for Ice cream!! The marina at Port Alberni is actually quite busy but well organized. Two launch ramps available. There is long term trailer parking right there at the marina and I think we paid about $30 (CN) to launch and park for 3 days. I think it probably fills up on weekends. The boat ride down the inlet to the sound is beautiful. Beware of logs in the water though. Many more logs there than in the San Juans. Great Salmon fishing in the area.
Have a great trip and enjoy.
