So is an incandescent light either AC or DC, or does it work on both?
It's the voltage that counts. An incandescent lamp is basically a resistive load other than the inrush current and will work on either AC or DC if the voltage is correct. That means a 120VAC bulb won't work on 12VDC. The voltage ratings on AC equipment is normally RMS (root-mean-square) which is 30% less than the peak voltage so a 120VAC circuit has a peak voltage of 169 Volts but would provide the same power to a resistive load as would a 120VDC voltage.

I pulled the fuses, went out to West Marine, and put in fresh ones. No luck. Tiny size difference.
I'm pretty sure I've used fuses from WalMart in mine.

There is also a main inline fuse holder just by the battery. translucent white plastic piece of junk. That one might have blown. That would kill all the lights. I would suggest a replacement inline fuse holder from radio shack for the mini blade type. Way better.

fuses

Standard 1 1/4 long US fuses did not fit in the panel on my old 26D. Bill at Macgregor in 1990s supplied some slightly shorter ones that did fit. Still have one or 2 and they fit the identical looking fuse panel on my X. Never thot to ask Bill if these are Brit or Euro spec fuses or to suggest another source.
