Jib Down Haul with Greer Reefing for Hank On Jib

I have a hank on jib on my Mac 25 with a down haul sheet and pulley and a Greer reefer sheet and pulley. The Greer reefer is a second sheet that goes through a pulley at the for stay then another at the 10 ft level up the forestay then drops in a loop through the jib foot where the jib sheet lines grommet is located.
When you want to drop the jib, first pull in the Greer reefer sheet. This brings the foot of the jib up to the 10 ft level which effectively bunches the jib. Then when you use the down haul, the jib bunches within the forward pulpit.
Works slick!

Very cool Goddard...I've never heard of a Greer Reefer. Makes sense. I take it you have no need to tend to the doused jib until you're done sailing? Also, can it be used to actually reef a hanked on jib in some manner?
