No matter if it is white or blue
if it is an M it is only a gem
If you want a treasure X marks the spot
Yep I don't start these things just finish them.

octaman, i was wondering if you posted your seat mod i went looking but only found the monster steering upgrade, nice work by the way like the new wheel position has to be easier to get around it now. I think im getting a bad case of the highly contagious more power bug and although i could just plunk a df 90 suzuki on there with no changes that 100 with its displacement looks mighty sexy. is the power head that much taller than the df70? i couldnt find any specs on it. Sorry you are now the resident M go faster guru. I cant wait to see some video shot from another boat of your boat at wot. Anyone interested in a slightly used 2010 suzuki df70?

MacM + 1950cc = HUGE success
Tom
I have not posted a seat mod; sorry. But it is quite straightforward. I cut off the horizontal section of the actual seat, raised the vertical sections by about 10cm and stuck the seat back on. I did not do this myself, I had it done by a skilled person that works GRP well. It was an easy job for him. I do not have a record of the measurements but I can measure the height of the seat as it is today if that is useful for you, next time I’m on the boat.
The new wheel position was a necessity to fit the new steering mechanism into the console box. As you say, it is easier to get round it and when I am sailing single-handed I can sit forward of the wheel and steer with one hand and trim the mainsheet with the other. Also the forward angle of the wheel works much better when tacking – it is easier to reach. The downside is I have an obstructed view of the tachometer and depth gauge. I have to crouch or lean back to view the readings of the two gauges when I am at the helm seat.
From the notes I have in my files when researching this project, I can say that the power head of the DF100 is 44 mm (1 and 6/8 inches) higher than my previous DF70 (2004 model /1.300cc).
If you have the more recent DF70-80-90/1.500cc, this is a little taller than the older 70 and the difference to the 100 according to my notes is less, only 32mm (1 & 3/8 inches). Heights measured from the upper end of the transom.
Remember that the 100 is also a little wider.
New engine sure is sexy!
I need to find one guy with a power boat willing to go out on the water with me and a second guy that can handle a video camera and is willing to go on the power boat to shoot the video; (any volunteers?)
When I do, I shall most definitely make a video and put it up for all you Mac lovers to see how the DF100 transforms the 26M into a whole different story.

I suspect both the X and the M are faster with the mast down as it reduces drag considerably. But I have not tried it and do not intend to as I have no interest to find out because my mast is always up anyway. Ha!

Well, if it's going to be a pit full of Vipers and Rattlers, then so be it. Highlander, I could not have said this better myslef!

Victor, wish I could wave my magic wand and get you over here, you and a few others on this forum, together with your Macs, both :macx:s & :macm:s; for a long weekend power-sailing around the beautiful Greek islands of the Saronic Gulf. We’d have a blast and learn a lot from each other. I’m the only Mac that I know of in the immediate vicinity of our home port and it does get kind’a lonely. Ahhh, . . . . .d r e a m i n g

I am very tempted to fly to Greece, rent a fishing boat, and do just that........
This is how Leon (aka Delevi

Beene - The Mac community is, I feel a very dediated society of people. Regretfully (for me) many thousands of Mac Owners are in the Americas (far away from me) and this gives you guys over there the opportunity to get together and make new friends. Delevi is another great example of a generous and innovative Mac Owner that I have followed closely in this website. So, understandably, you guys became friends.
One way or another, . . . I shall make that video!!!

Thanks dlandersson. You know, the Turkish coastline is very nice but Turkey is another country, on the other side of the Aegean Sea. Check out this website as an example of what I have in my back yard here in Greece,
http://www.poros.com.gr
The beautiful island of Poros is a fine example of one of 3.500 Greek islands we have scattered around the Grecian Archipelago.
GREECE really is a sailor's paradise.
'GO GREECE'!!!

Thanks Hamin X for your input. Glad you enjoyed the video.
We have had cold weather and rain and snow lately, so no boating activity.
I do intend to make the running video as soon as I can so stay tuned.
Thanks for the Mac Owners in Greece.
