My Dad got a ticket in LA for walking
Yeah, that's pretty much normal up until about a year ago - we had to re-train the police to not cite people for walking without a car and to stop beating up people named Rodney. (Poor Rodney, everyone really loved that guy out here - it was so sad when he passed away this year. That guy had a hard life). Not sure but I think it's not illegal to be homeless here now too.
Anyways, we have been on a statewide program since last fall to relearn how to walk - some of us are starting to pick it up but others (like myself) are still having difficulty learning - it's a lost art out here. People gather in parks and before work with "celebrity trainers" to teach us which foot goes next after you put one in front of you, (I fell backwards a couple of times because I forgot what foot I had put in front before I put the other one out front). Here in California there are some passenger trains now, real shiny bright things, I think they call it "public transportation"? Something like that - they put one of those shiny blue trains down at the bottom of the hill below my neighborhood:
I'm still afraid to ride it - all those people - strangers sitting next to you, I dunno.
Oh, Catigale! You will be happy to know they do not cite people anymore for driving 55 anymore! We just deport them back to Oregon.
It's nuts guys - when my wife and kid want to have some fun with people and practice "walking" we love to drive up to San Francisco - what a blast! New Orleans is another great town and they don't arrest you for walking!!
