So do I, as we plan on visiting the area around that time looking at real estate. The later in the the spring, the better the chance I can have the boat ready.
But I'm a wild card, with a 12 hour drive to get there (more with the trailer), so my suggestions/desires should have essentially zero influence.

Dates are set: May 8-10th.
We will put in at the Southport Marina ramp Friday (location: 606 W West Street, Southport, NC 28461), sail up the river to Wilmington and spend Saturday night at the City docks, then sail back to the ramp in Southport Sunday for recovery and return home.
I have the whole dock in front of the hotel reserved for our rendezvous so bring your suits and wallet as they have a poolside bar that we can enjoy.
You will need to contact the Wilmington City Docks at 910-520-6875 to book your reservation for Saturday night and tell them that you are with the "Macgregor Southport Sail group". Just don't mention anything about the hotel pool or bar as they are not associated with one another.
I still need to make arrangements with Southport Marina so let me know if you want to rent a slip for Friday night. If you want to come early just let me know and I can let the marina know when to expect you.

Tentatively planning on being there. Probably for the whole preceding week, as we have to make a drive like that worth it by visiting friends, and checking out the area from a retirement perspective. Winters are just getting too long and cold for us. It will take some effort to prep the boat that early, as I usually don't get it into the water before Fathers' Day, and I don't want to travel that far and find out I left something behind.
Boat Name: Tomfoolery
Length: 25'-10" (OK, 26 ft, but it says 25 ft on the registration

)

Just to be clear, you're spending Friday night at the Southport Marina docks, then sailing up the river on Saturday? About 26 miles or so?

That's what I'm thinking. There's a flood tide on Saturday and an ebb tide on Sunday.

Oops... Flood on Saturday which means we can sail on Saturday... and probably motor on Sunday back to Southport.
