Re: Is it worth it...?
I skipped a bunch of this thread so apologies if this has been addressed already. One boat owner wants 3k and one wants 2k right? That seems like a lot of change to spend on 2 fixer uppers. I don't know what the market is like in your area but 5 grand will buy a lot of boat around here. Granted there aren't many Macs available but there are a bunch of sailboats in my area in good shape for sale that can be had for under 5k. Just food for thought. I'd keep looking. The right boat is out there just be patient. She'll speak to you when you find her and you'll know that's the one.

Thanks for the encouragement... It's tough to hear all the stories and watch everyone else having fun...hart wrote:The right boat is out there just be patient. She'll speak to you when you find her and you'll know that's the one.
I saw this too, but I'm wondering if it is mostly people using a kicker bracket like on a traditional sailboat that raises the motor out of the water and up against the transom...that would probably allow you to use a standard length shaft, as well as get the motor up and out of the way when not in use (as opposed to just tilting it). Don't know - will have to look at some more boats...Mike C. wrote:I am thinking of putting the motor back into the well, but noticed most people appear to use a mount even when putting it on the well side.
Indeed!Mike C. wrote:Isn't looking at boats fun???
