The mast on the buccaneer Is probably heavier the the newports. That might be an issue. The buccaneer probably has a ballast keel. Iron most likely. The extra mast weight might not be good on a light boat like the Newport. You might have to cut it to size also. It probably has a different section shape. I guess it would work. Id rather have a venture mast myself.

...mast thoughts...I can't find any data on the bay liner mast size...I am a bit worried it will be too heavy for your trailerable...
A mast for a typical trailerable from Rig Rite is about 750 USD new...shipping is the killer, but maybe there is a way to get it to you cheaper on the MacLove Train.

I don't NEED a new mast...the Mac mast is just fine...we bent the step plate in the "oops" post, but the mast is fine....
I am just thinking ahead...spares of ANYTHING are always good to have... I also have the ability and know how to cut it down if I need too
I can also make more $$ selling the mast separately if I can't use it than put it on the Crack boat....The Crack boat is to far gone to restore as a "sailer" anyway....plus its a sh*tty boat I hear.....but with a working 15 HP motor, a "Cheap" refit of the cabin and you have a "nice" lake camper....
The Stays and what not are all NEW, and most will be "donated" to the mac, some I need, some as spares for future....I've already ripped off the entire "fence" and dry fit on the mac looks good and feasible... the mast itself will either keep or sell....
I'm pulling the compass and the instrumentation and fuse/switch panel....then she goes back on CL
Then Switch trailers....then sell my old mac trailer
Cheers
Dave

The $400 principle I keep mentioning is the $$ I borrowed from a friend to buy the Crackboat Because when this deal came up I had to move quickly to get it....naturally since I JUST bought the Mac i didn't have $400 liquid at the moment...The Admiral said no, so I went behind her back and borrowed it
(Ironically, your post is funny cause he is Asian lol, but he's loaded and he's a good friend)
However there is enough "junk" left over to sell, and the "retainer would be that I am selling my trailer and its easily worth $400
Rest is profit, and a Boatload of good parts and upgrades
I pulled two little 12volt Cabin Fans out today....look/work great and worth about $40

I know right....WORST case I put it on CL free section and I will get a ton of emails with people begging to come take it off my hands... I've done it before
Before she goes for "free" I will try and sell it for cheap, and if it goes for "free" the Brass 3 blade prop stays behind

Those two Black "pullys" on each side in the cockpit? One spins (and ratchets) the other seems stuck tight....looks like a handle of some sort goes in the top but it is MIA
I was going to grab those anyway, and any "pulleys and Tackle" I saw might be useful....
Gotta go to a friends BBQ, but when I get back it should be cool enough outside to pressure wash and post pics on CL
I think a 15hp inboard motor Floating Camper should sell pretty quick down here...

Yep. Don't worry if they are frozen, they fix cheap. Depending on make, they will be 200-500 each new, so 100-250 used each...unbolt from below of course...

"Pulleys"? I assume you are referring to the sheet winches. Can't tell, but they look like pretty heavy winches. As mentioned, they are not cheap to replace. Dissamble from the top, be careful not to lose parts, springs, bearings, etc., when taking off the winch barrel. Get someone on top and someone below and unbolt winch base plate. Clean everything up, lube with winch grease and mount on your Venture. Check inside the "yacht" and see if there is a winch handle. Try to determine brand of winch, Lewmar, Barient, Barlow? Then if you need a new handle you can get a replacement. Fair Winds and Full Sails...Old Salt.

Real Quick....about to go out for dinner...admiral catches me online I'm sunk, but I'm out in the shop
We took the Mac out to Falls Lake today (no mast) and motored around and drank beer all day.....just got back
Surprised how HIGH the mac sits off the water after having powerboats all this time
Love the Cabin..filled it with beer
We were quite the spectacle as Falls doesn't have any sailboats...but we motored along and waved and had a great time
Off for a 16oz steak and a plate of nachos....
tomorrow I will pull those furler/pully thingys worth $150 off the crack boat...
I will post pics later
you guys rock....
thx
Dave
