Re: Plant Shuttered, Doors Closed.
Thanks, Russ. Yeah, I see it now. Not sure what's up with that boat... would be easier to see what's up if the owner would post photos of the issues.
Re: Plant Shuttered, Doors Closed.
The secret for curbs is to chock one wheel and rotate the trailer with the drive 90 degree to the draw bar till one wheel is over the curb then chock that wheel and repeat till both wheels are over the curb. I use a Parkit 360M and have similar issues in manoeuvring. I agree great things to have.BOAT wrote:It's worth every penny because the guy builds them like tanks. They are really strong - a lot of hard steel in that thing. And they are VERY powerful - NOTHING will stop the motor (I mean NOTHING) if it has traction it will just keep going. I tried to make a brake for it and I accidentally put the brake on without shutting down the motor and the thing chewed my metal brake up into a twisted pretzel - NOTHING stops it.
The number one thing is TRACTION. To get the trailer over my curb I need to pull the boat in a hard left turn and then a hard right turn or the tires will just skid. It can go up hill but not go over bumps bigger than 2 inches uphill because there is not enough tongue wight on out boats to hold the tires down hard enough against the pavement to keep traction.
I made little ramps to go up the curb, but next time I go out I'm going to stand on the tongue and see if that gives it enough traction weight to go up the curb without ramps.

I'm sorry, but I'm not at liberty to release any other personal phone numbers or email addresses I have.
I am curious, though... have they contacted their dealer? It's my understanding that normally warranty claims start there first.

It has been provided on FB...lets not get in the middle of a warranty issue, although I'm sure we all want to help her get her boat straightened out.

Re: Plant Shuttered, Doors Closed.
Yes, that is the method I use to get it over the curb and bumps but I don't even chock one of the wheels, I just turn the tractor 90 degrees to the drawbar and it pulls the trailer right up and over on one side and then I turn the tractor 90 degrees in the other direction and it pulls the other tire up and over. The secret for curbs is to chock one wheel and rotate the trailer with the drive 90 degree to the draw bar till one wheel is over the curb then chock that wheel and repeat till both wheels are over the curb. The tractor has the power to pull over the bumps - it's just does not have the traction - If I try it straight on the tractor tires just spin.

Hey Kevin--it's here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/8994597044/kmclemore wrote:OK, so I gotta ask... what Facebook site?mastreb wrote:On the original topic, there's a post on facebook regarding a brand new owner whose got a Mac with deck leaks and a daggerboard cracks and de-lamination so bad that the boat takes on water any time its floated....
There are way too many facebook groups of things. This one is pretty active. But as Stephen says, let's all wait to see how this pans out. Clearly a manufacturing mistake occurred, but I'm quite sure they'll make it right.
Like most Mac owners, my Mac has been flawless.

Hey guys, I have never done Facebook or Twitter or My Space or any of that stuff cuz we like to run under the radar as they say, so I can't read the lady's complaint.
Matt, were you able to tell how old the boat is from the Facebook story? Cuz I think Victor brings up a good point: If Tattoo has not even produced a boat yet how are they gonna fix one?
I'm sure there must be master fiberglass guys out there that would know what to do to fix it, but I would not think the factory in Florida would be ready for this yet for sure. (?)

Legally, the factory in Florida is separate from the factory in California.

It's a brand-new 26M - one of the last ones.

I think it was a transom mount. That's where mine is. Measures speed thru water and temp as well.
Glad it was simple problem.
